Overview
Students lacked an integrated space on campus to buy bread, learn baking, relax, and share their interests. The demand for both convenience and community was unmet, leaving students with fragmented solutions.
We built a baking association from the ground up, growing to 2,000+ members within one year. The initiative integrated group-buying via a WeChat-based UniAPP, secured a dedicated baking venue, and hosted weekly activities, creating a sustainable model that balanced community value with financial stability.
Research
The call among students for a centralized platform to exchange interests in bakery has always been strong. Their core needs include but not limited to bread purchasing, baking practice, and social connection. Survey feedback showed strong interest in both practical convenience and community engagement.

Design
The association was designed as a multi-functional ecosystem, integrating WeChat UniAPP group-buying, a dedicated baking venue, and weekly community events. We even signed a rent contract with a bar near school for using their site in the day time, to secure a safe and convenient activity place for members.
The experience combined commerce, education, and social interaction, creating a unique and sustainable model distinct from traditional student clubs.
Expanded to 2,000+ members within one year, becoming the largest student association on campus.
Recognized with the Best Association of the Year award, and gained a strong reputation among students.
Generated over USD $10,000 in monthly revenue, with long-term sustainability ensured through partnerships with 30+ bakeries across Beijing.
