Overview
As a small yoga studio with only local customers, MoreYoga studios lack an online platform for course booking. Considering the good reputation that this boutique studio owns, we need unique aesthetics and functions with minimal cost.
As a full-stack developer, I designed the UniAPP built in WeChat (the biggest communication APP that Chinese uses) specifically tailored for MoreYoga studio. It unites theory, practice, and community in one accessible platform, offering guided learning, themed training, and supportive tools for daily growth.
Research
In the user research, we found that students at MoreYoga sought not only convenient class booking but also holistic features that combined practice, learning, and social interaction. Key findings showed a strong need for flexible schedules, personalized guidance, and a sense of community support.
Design
The concept emphasized a minimalist yet refined aesthetic, drawing inspiration from the ink-wash meaning of “More” (has a similar sound with “Ink” in mandarin) to craft a unique visual identity.
Unlike typical booking mini-apps, the interface was restructured to highlight not only class reservations but also activity sign-ups and knowledge learning.
The user system was designed with separate teacher and admin views, enabling instructors to flexibly manage student bookings directly within UniApp.
Expanded the community to 200+ active members within the first year, building a strong foundation for long-term growth.
Achieved 50+ daily bookings through the mini-app, streamlining class and activity scheduling for both students and instructors.
Increased retention and satisfaction, with 85% of surveyed users reporting higher motivation to practice regularly and 90% of teachers noting improved efficiency in class management.
